More random shots from random years

Dreaming of summer, I found these pictures from a few years back: (+ one totally random one, with my old hair!--weird!  but fun!)  I really gotta get back to my painting!!!!  Yikes!!!

Art in Self Focus Fun with the Camera Introspection

Some last summer shots I was thinking of doing self-portraits of.

Some more old poetry and a song

“Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.”
William Ernest Henley, Invictus

I just heard a new song by Mike Cavanaugh, so I thought I'd share one with a video:

Autumns Cannon

Here is my latest painting, "Autumns Cannon--New Year's Eve, Sparks St., Ottawa."  It features Mark Laforest.  Thanks for your positive comments, Autumns Cannon!  Nice meeting you again last Friday!

During my move, I found this old gem of a photo of me playing piano, probably about 12-15 years ago!  Crazy!  Who knows what else I'll discover...

I played for ten years, through a strict classical teacher, then through a favourite 'hippy' teacher of mine--Lee--who inspired me and taught me chords and Beatles and pop.  All to say not sure if I can measure up today!!!
