Opera Trance

I just love those heart-busting techno beats with the earth-pounding vibrations, so I looked up some Opera Trance.  My mother used to blast opera and classical music through the house while I was growing up, so I enjoy the two styles coming together.  I found this delectable hybrid:

Figure Catch Up

Finally getting around to posting these figure drawings; some are from tonight.  Some have legs that are too short.  Some have beautiful colours.  Some have wacky waist proportions.  Some are of a pregnant wife with husband.  All were intense studies.  Enjoy.

Rogers TV

I made my first TV appearance yesterday on Rogers 22 yesterday!  There will be multiple runs during the week. Here is the link:

There is no footage available as of yet, but when I do get it, I will be sure to post it/share it.  Enlightening but strange being me seeing myself!

Danny Michel

I just finished a portrait of Danny Michel, a great Canadian musician.  I met him at the Ottawa Folk Festival, after having seen him a long time ago, for the first time, at the Tulip Festival.  So glad I got the opportunity to chat and have him pose for me!

And thanks, again, Danny, for your comments on my painting!  Have fun touring!

Loopy, organic, whimsical

I came across an article on sculptor Ken Price and his bright, blobby, sculptures; I love them!  I was feeling rather uninspired, but suddenly my muse came back to me and I think Ken's quote,

"A craftsman knows what he's going to make, and an artist doesn't know what he's going to make," (Time Oct 2012)

will get me painting NOW!  Here's a sample of Ken Price's work--he passed away in February at 77:

I'm feeling inspired, feeling inspired!!!
