"Harvest Moon"

Come a little bit closer
Hear what I have to say
Just like children sleepin'
We could dream this night away.

But there's a full moon risin'
Let's go dancin' in the light
We know where the music's playin'
Let's go out and feel the night.

Because I'm still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon.

When we were strangers
I watched you from afar
When we were lovers
I loved you with all my heart.

But now it's gettin' late
And the moon is climbin' high
I want to celebrate
See it shinin' in your eye.

Because I'm still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon.

STAYING

Apparently I can just change the name here to Claudia's Studio, so to avoid confusion, I'm staying put at this blog address.  :)

Here's one of my favourite takes on the human condition in the 19th century:

Florence and the Machine

I really like Florence and the Machine's songs...they're good to run and paint to!

Florence And The Machine No Light No Light lyrics

You are the hole in my head
You are the space in my bed
You are the silence in between what I thought
And what I said

You are the night time fear
You are the morning when it's clear
When it's over you'll start
You're my head
You're my heart

No light, no light in your bright blue eyes
I never knew daylight could be so violent
A revelation in the light of day
You can't choose what stays and what fades away

And I'd do anything to make you stay
No light, no light
No light
Tell me what you want me to say

Through the crowd, I was crying out
And in your place there were a thousand other faces
I was disappearing in plain sight
Heaven help me, I need to make it right

You want a revelation,
You wanna get it right
But, it's a conversation,
I just can't have tonight
You want a revelation
Some kind of resolution
You want a revelation

No light, no light in your bright blue eyes
I never knew daylight could be so violent
A revelation in the light of day,
You can't choose what stays and what fades away

And I'd do anything to make you stay
No light, no light
No light
Tell me what you want me to say

Would you leave me,
If I told you what I've done?
And would you need me,
If I told you what I've become?
'cause it's so easy,
To say it to a crowd
But it's so hard, my love,
To say it to you out loud

No light, no light in your bright blue eyes
I never knew daylight could be so violent
A revelation in the light of day,
You can't choose what stays and what fades away

And I'd do anything to make you stay
No light, no light
No light
Tell me what you want me to say

You want a revelation,
You wanna get it right
But, it's a conversation,
I just can't have tonight
You want a revelation
Some kind of resolution
You want a revelation

You want a revelation,
You wanna get it right
But, it's a conversation,
I just can't have tonight
You want a revelation, some kind of resolution
Tell me what you want me to say.

A delightful article

Having travelled quite a bit in my life, I found this article completely on the mark when I happened across it a couple of days ago:  Funny!

I really like this quote and had to share it!

Laura Secord

The Ottawa Little Theatre is celebrating one hundred years; as such, we were asked to present a piece that commemorates the year 1913.  Laura Secord opened in 1913, so I thought it would be a good idea to showcase some great candy and ice cream!  I hauled my camera to the St. Laurent mall, and the cashier was kind enough to let me photograph her.  In the meantime a gentleman came and got a cone--good timing!!!

$325

Boston MFA

I've been really busy volunteering at the Ottawa Folk Festival, but before I get a chance to download all my festival stuff, I thought I'd insert some art into my timeline.  When I was in Boston, I saw some exceptional sculptures and paintings, by two of my favourite artists, Rodin and Renoir, in the same room!  I was in some sort of art ecstasy--I think I could have stayed all day.  Here are a couple of outstanding pieces:

Ottawa Folk Festival

It's been a busy couple of nights!  I've been enjoying gallivanting around the grounds of the Ottawa Folk Festival, taking in all the concerts that I can.  On Thursday, I enjoyed catching Matt Mays, Matthew Good and Ben Harper.

Here a couple of video snippets:

Matthew Good, Ottawa Folk Festival, 2012

And I found Danny Michel right before he left, in an Autograph Tent:

Thanks, Danny!!  Nice meeting you!

Cool new song from Muse!

http://youtu.be/DOGJD0rx8Ns

"Madness"
 by Muse

(Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma...)

I, I can't get these memories out of my mind,
And some kind of madness has started to evolve.
(Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma...)
I, I tried so hard to let you go,
But some kind of madness is swallowing me whole, yeah
(Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma...)

I have finally seen the light,
And I have finally realized,
What you mean.
Ooh oh oh

And now, I need to know is this real love,
Or is it just madness keeping us afloat?
(Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma...)
And when I look back at all the crazy fights we had,
Like some kind of madness
Was taking control
(Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma...)
Yeah

And now I have finally seen the light,
And I have finally realized,
What you need.
Mmmm...

(Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma...)

And now I have finally seen the end
(Finally seen the end)
And I'm not expecting you to care
(Expecting you to care)
But I have finally seen the light
(Finally seen the light)
I have finally realized
(Realized)
I need to love
I need to love

Come to me,
Just in a dream
Come on and rescue me.
Yes I know, I can be wrong
Maybe I'm too headstrong
Our love is
(Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma...)
Madness
